EL PASO, Texas —

Over the weekend, a video on YouTube was released that purports to show wrongdoing by the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.

A Socorro city representative called Sheriff Richard Wiles a corrupt official.

The video was released by Socorro city representative Jesse Gandara.

The video claims to show never-before-seen footage.

The representative's blog said the video is of a Socorro police officer talking to a sheriff's deputy.

The video is more than 13 minutes long, with a number of allegations against the sheriff and his deputies.

At one point, a deputy said he is working on a case that hasn't been created yet.

The video then implicates that the sheriff is using four deputies to investigate a Socorro City Council member on a case that hasn't been created.

According to a Socorro city spokesperson, the video is a statement by Gandara related to when the City Council last week voted to sue the sheriff's department for raiding the council's offices in May, taking computers and other documents and not returning them.

That investigation is into alleged misspending by three members of the Socorro City Council and a police officer.

KFOX14 received the following statement form the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Monday afternoon.

"In regard to the recent development out of Socorro Texas, the El Paso County Sheriff's Office will not engage in a debate with the subject of a criminal investigation. We stand by our press release dated Friday, November 9, 2012."
