EL PASO, Texas —
A vehicle caught fire on the 4100 block of North Mesa Street on Thursday afternoon while the driver of the vehicle went inside a nearby building.
At around 4 p.m., fire officials received a call on a vehicle fire that may have been endangering a building.
A woman went inside the Loan Star Title Loans location on North Mesa Street, and when she came out, she noticed her vehicle was on fire, said Capt. Louis Heid of the El Paso Fire Department.
The woman and two employees tried to put the fire out with a fire extinguisher, but the fire overtook their efforts, Heid said.
It took 20 to 30 minutes for fire officials to put out the fire, and the nearby building was not affected. The woman believes that her car may have overheated, which may have caused the fire,Heid said.
