Weather Blamed For Rescue Efforts

By Oscar Garcia

EL PASO, Texas —

The weather was to blame when it came to rescuing someone involved in an accident on U.S. Highway 54 in Otero County Sunday afternoon.

The accident happened just a few miles beyond the Texas/New Mexico state line just outside of northeast El Paso.

The single vehicle accident required a medical helicopter’s assistance, but the weather did not allow for that helicopter to take off, we’re told.

Instead, an ambulance had to take that person to University Medical Center for severe injuries.

No word on what caused the accident.
