Crews with El Paso Water Utilities responded to a broken water main on Copia Street between Taylor Avenue and Polk Street in Central El Paso around 1:30 a.m. Friday.
Workers stopped the flow of water in about 15 minutes, but not before the water streamed down Byron Street and Tyler Avenue, finally stopping at Dyer Street and Van Buren Avenue.
Crews said water service was interrupted to about homes in the area.
