Vinton rollover accident leaves man in his 60s with minor injuries

By Jesse Martinez

VINTON, Texas —

A man in his 60s was taken to a hospital with minor injuries after his truck's tire blew out and caused the vehicle to roll over.

Around 1 p.m. Monday, the man was driving a white Ford Ranger westbound on Interstate 10 near mile marker 2, according to Angelica Becerra, a spokesperson for the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.

The truck's left rear tire blew out and the driver overcorrected to the right, which resulted with him driving into the median and his truck flipping over, Becerra said.

The man was the only occupant in the vehicle and was wearing his seat belt, Becerra said. He was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries.

Becerra said the cause of the blow-out was a worn-out tire.
