EL PASO, Texas —
Police arrested Luis Javier Solis-Gonzalez, who is suspected of killing two adults and a 13-year-old girl.
The three victims were found dead in a townhome near Bengal Drive and Vista Del Sol Avenue when police were conducting a welfare check Thursday, police said.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers said Solis-Gonzalez,35, approached them at the Paso Del Norte port of entry before noon Friday and told them he was turning himself in for homicide charges.
Police believe Solis-Gonzalez killed his ex-wife, her new boyfriend and her daughter.
The victims are Marysol Saldivar, 34, Cassaundra Holt, 13, and Eric DeSantiago, 42, police said.
Police said that Solis-Gonzalez is Saldivar's ex-husband, Holt was Saldivar's daughter and DeSantiago was Saldivar's new boyfriend.
Saldivar and Solis-Gonzalez have a child together. That child was not hurt. Police would not say whether that child was taken by Solis-Gonzalez after the killing.
Detectives had secured a warrant his arrest on one count of Capital Murder with a $1,500,000.00 bond.
DeSantiago's sister, Betty Aguilar, spoke with KFOX14 News seconds after finding out that her brother was dead. She had waited outside the red police tape for hours, only speculating that her brother was a victim. Her eyes welled up with tears as she described her brother during on-camera interview.
"He was the best brother anybody could have," Aguilar said. "One thing I could tell you, he was a very hard-working man. He loved his wife and his children. He loved his employees. He was very well-loved everywhere. He loved the Lord with all of his heart."
Aguilar and other family members of DeSantiago said he only knew Saldivar for about three months. None of the family had met her or her daughter. No one had any information about Solis-Gonzalez.
