The University of Texas at El Paso's master of business administration program was internationally recognized as one of the top "Rising Star" business schools.

A European-based Internet company, FindYourMBA.com, named UTEP's College of Business Administration's MBA program 28th among the world's top 35 FindYourMBA.com Rising Stars 2012.

This is the first time UTEP was recognized in this list, which was created in 2009. 

"Our faculty and staff are thankful for the recognition provided by the FindYourMBA Rising Star rankings," said Robert Nachtmann, dean of UTEP's College of Business Administration. "Mostly, we are thankful for the confidence that MBA candidates place in us as we jointly empower our students with the business science and art that is so necessary for organizational success in this wondrous world of global competitive achievement."

The company takes various factors into account when naming programs to its list, such as full-time faculty members, new hires, and Graduate Management Admission Test scores. They also look at any significant steps the institutions made to improve themselves and future plans, according to their website.

The organization wrote on their website that UTEP's major selling points were an international focus in a dynamic cross-border setting, real-world learning opportunities and an international faculty bringing industry and research expertise.

UTEP's MBA program has also been named number one among business graduate schools in the past three years in Hispanic Business magazine.
