EL PASO, Texas —

According to the Los Angeles Times, University of Texas at El Paso basketball coach Tim Floyd met with USC's athletic director about a coaching job.

The article stated that a three-hour meeting went well.

Tuesday night, the Miners will play Memphis at a final game of the season.

UTEP Athletic Director Bob Stull released a statement following the Times article.

"I was contacted six weeks ago by Pat Haden, who was interested in talking to Tim Floyd about the USC coaching job. The meeting took place. Coach Floyd has always indicated to me that he is happy working at UTEP, and until he tells me otherwise he is our coach."

Stull also mentioned in a news release that Floyd would like to focus on Tuesday night's game. He said that Floyd will be available after the game to answer questions.

The Associated Press reports that Floyd spoke to USC about his old job as the Trojans' coach, but he is not necessarily headed back to Southern California.

KFOX14 will be at the game and will have more information on KFOX14 News.
