EL PASO, Texas —

The teams have been announced for the 2012 Hyundai Sun Bowl, and a USC Trojans linebacker made it known publicly that he is not looking forward to the trip.

"Georgia Tech!? El Paso, Texas!? New Years Eve!? FML," @NoCutz tweeted.

Although the twitter name for @NoCutz currently says Benjamin S. Button, that Twitter account belongs to USC linebacker Tony Burnett, according to his profile on www.USCTrojans.com.

@NoCutz's profile picture shows a USC football player with a No. 34 jersey, which also belongs to Burnett.

When he was approached by other Twitter users, he wrote that he isn't ungrateful about coming to the Sun City, but continued that "I've been to El Paso no one wants to be there New Year's Eve #sorrynotsorry."

"It doesn't bother us what they say before they get here, it's what they say after they leave," said Bernie Olivas with the Sun Bowl Association.

A few hours after the comments were made, Burnett closed his Twitter account momentarily. When it reopened, he tweeted this apology:

"Earlier today I made some tweets I regret. To the city of El Paso and representatives of the Hyundai Sun Bowl, I apologize for my remarks. My team and I are grateful for the opportunity to play in our first bowl game in three years and we are appreciative of all of the hard work that goes into making the game happen. What I tweeted was not representative of my team or my university. I sincerely apologize and hope my apology is taken at its word. I am excited for the bowl game and I hope we can give you a great show. Thank you for your support and Fight On! I am not perfect. When a mistake is made you apologize. It is the simplest complexity of life."

The Hyundai Sun Bowl between Georgia Tech and USC will be at noon Dec. 31. Ticket prices start at $15.
