US 54 Closures

US 54 WIDENING PROJECT:

The SPUR 601- Liberty Expressway has been completed and crews are now focusing on the completion of the US 54 Widening Project.

Project Details-TXDOT Crews broke ground and got started on the project in June of 2006. J.D. Abrams is the contractor for the project.

The project includes the following additions and improvements:

-6.347 miles from Yandell Overpass to 1200 feet north of Hondo Pass Overpass

-US 54 is being widened from two to three lanes, northbound and southbound

-New overhead bridge signs

-New overpasses at: Hondo Pass Hercules Ellerthorpe Dyer Broaddus Fred Wilson

-Update of traffic signals at exiting intersections along US 54

-TransVista – four new northbound traffic cameras

The US54 Widening project's total cost is approximatley $33 million.

Crews are working on finishing touches.

DYER (BU 54) MILL & INLAY PROJECT:

There will be alternate north and southbound (right and left) lane closures on Dyer St. from US 54 to Sanders Ave. Monday, October 24 through Friday, October 28 daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and the following morning on a “need basis only”.
