EL PASO, Texas —

  Two people were killed when a teen driver slammed into the victims as they were loading a disabled car onto a car dolly.

The crash happened about 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday on I-25 north of Hatch, New Mexico. 

New Mexico state police said Julian Abel Salazar, 16, was driving a 2011 GMC truck when he struck two cars in the emergency lane.

Fransico Rodriguez, 45, and Manuela Rodriguez, 48, both of Salem, New Mexico were killed.

Police said the Rodriguez's were killed as they were loading a 1995 Ford Pro onto a 1994 Chevy truck dolly.  

Salazar was injured and rushed to Mountain View Regional Hospital in Las Cruces. His condition is unknown.

State police have not filed charges against Salazar.
