El Paso, TX —
Isaiah Matos, 14, died at University Medical Center after relatives decided to take him off life support.
Matos' death follows that of his grandmother and brother, Deman. His sister, Eboney Jones, remains unresponsive in a pediatric intensive care unit. His grandfather remains in critical condition at a burn unit in Lubbock, Texas.
El Paso Fire Department officials said the home had no working smoke detectors and furniture blocking many of the windows, making it very difficult for the family to escape the burning house.
Saturday night, friends and neighbors gathered for a second vigil at the ruined home. Many brought pictures, flowers, candles and personal notes to the victims.
Family members say the legacy of their parents and the children will live on through great memories.
"They have lots of friends," said Seidi Matos, the children's aunt. "They impacted a lot of people’s lives."
A representative of the family tells KFOX-TV they plan to donate both Deman and Eboney's organs. They were unable to donate Isaiah's organs.
