Two women said they were shot at while jogging, and a couple of hours later in the same neighborhood a body was discovered, also shot. Police said the two Monday morning shootings are linked. KFOX has found documents that allege one of the joggers' estranged husband was the gunman, the same man found dead hours later.

"Just after 4:30 this morning officers from regional command set out to a call back on the 11800th block of Montwood in reference to a subject with a gun call," said El Paso police Detective Elizabeth Molina.

While jogging early this morning in a quiet east El Paso neighborhood, 43-year-old Linda Segapeli and 40-year-old Jill Joseph said someone tried to gun them down.

"Upon arrival, the officers met with two female victims who advised they were running eastbound on Montwood and an unknown male suspect approached them and started firing multiple times at them," said Molina.

Police say that suspect was 40-year-old Robert Joseph, the estranged husband of one of the joggers. His body was discovered just a couple of blocks away from the shooting. The cause of death was a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the torso.

"We're just surprised about hearing something like that in our neighborhood, it's a concern to us, to me and my family," said a concerned neighbor.

According to court documents, not only did Robert Joseph have a restraining order against him, his wife was filing for divorce. There are several documents that detail years of violence. Police said the two joggers are lucky they weren't injured despite being fired upon at close range. Still the incident doesn't comfort residents.

"That makes me feel very concerned, I mean a shot could just, you know, go into your house and can hurt somebody," said a neighbor.

According to documents, Robert Joseph had two open warrants, one for a charge of harassment that allegedly happened on Nov. 18, 2005. Another was for a charge of stalking, which allegedly happened on Dec. 17, 2005. Jill Joseph filed for divorce from her husband on Nov. 10, 2005.
