Two Hospitalized In Overnight Collision

EL PASO, Texas —

An overnight accident Saturday sent two people to the hospital.

The accident happened just after midnight on the 5300 block of Marshall, in northeast El Paso.

Police officials said two vehicles crashed head-on in the overpass of Marshall and Fred Wilson, causing 26-year-old Xavier Alexander Barraza, who was not wearing a seatbelt, to receive life-threatening injuries.

He was taken to William Beaumont hospital.

The other driver, 60-year-old Robert Calderon, suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Police don't believe speed or alcohol played a role in the accident.
