Two El Paso men charged in Sunday stabbing

EL PASO, Texas —

Police investigators said that 20-year-old Manuel Gomez and 17-year-old Ezequiel Ochoa assaulted 34-year-old Ricardo Cereces outside a northeast El Paso apartment Sunday.

Cereces was stabbed multiple times and taken to University Medical Center by ambulance, where he is listed in stable condition, police said.

Ochoa and Gomez were arrested on Monday after investigators determined they were responsible for the attack.

Details of why Cereces was stabbed have not been released by police.

Both Gomez and Ochoa were booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility on one count of engaging in organized criminal activity attempted murder with $100,000 and $75,000.00 bonds respectively.
