EL PASO COUNTY, Texas —

El Paso County Sheriff's officials said they arrested two people in connection to a "chop shop" operation in Socorro.

On Jan. 29, deputies went to Sierra Metals on the 200 block of Horizon Boulevard in reference to a recovered stolen vehicle.

The victim told deputies that their vehicle was inside Sierra Metals, was damaged and missing parts.

The vehicle was reported stolen on Jan. 28, officials said.

As a result of the investigation, the property owner, Jaime Gandara, and office manager, Jennifer Martinez, were arrested for fraudulent transfer of a motor vehicle.

Martinez, 25, was also charged with false report to a peace officer.

Gandara, 39, was booked with bail set at $20,000, and Martinez's bail totaled $35,000.

Officials said a third person was also arrested, but information was not released because of the ongoing investigation.
