Truck on I-10 Lands In Ravine

EL PASO, Texas —

Failure to control speed sent a pickup truck off the Interstate and into a ravine, police said.

A Nissan truck and Honda Element were headed down Interstate 10 east Tuesday night when the Nissan slowed down for unknown reasons. That’s when officers said the driver of the Honda rammed into the truck, sending it off of the interstate.

The truck crossed two lanes on South Desert Boulevard before landing in a small ravine in front of Canutillo High School. Couches and other furniture in the bed of that truck flew out upon impact, scattering across the area. Both the driver and passenger were taken to University Medical Center where they are in stable condition.

The driver who officers said caused that crash was issued a citation for failure to control speed.
