Gas turned off, Bataan West reopened

Las Cruces Police Department

LAS CRUCES, N.M. —

Bataan Memorial West between Sonoma Ranch Boulevard and Emerald Street on Las Cruces’ East Mesa is now open to traffic after the flow of gas leading to a punctured line was shut off.

A construction crew working in the area punctured a natural gas line at around 8 a.m. Tuesday forcing the temporary closure of westbound traffic along Bataan Memorial West.

Police are asking motorists to use caution while driving through the area as firefighters and utility crews remain on site while the gas line is repaired.
