EL PASO, Texas —

El Paso Water Utilities officials want drivers to be aware of a project beginning Monday which will include lane closures on Lee Trevino Drive.

A spokeswoman for the utility said the project included installing a large diameter pipe under Lee Trevino, adding box culverts and making improvements to the Jesuit Basin near the golf driving range on the 1300 block of Lee Trevino Drive.

Utility officials said construction will take place mostly between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. The first stage of construction on the southbound lanes of Lee Trevino Drive at the Jesuit Basin to Pellicano Drive will reduce the southbound traffic to one lane at night, two lanes during the day. Northbound lanes will not be affected.

The first stage is expected to be completed by May.
