Teen associated with Las Cruces prostitution ring found dead in Austin

EL PASO, Texas —

A Texas teen arrested in Las Cruces as an accomplice to underage prostitution has been found dead in Austin.

According to KFOX14 media partner, the Las Cruces Sun News, Tynesia Tanna Brown, 18, of Bedford, Texas, was found by a rancher Monday morning shot to death, her body dumped along a county road in central Texas, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

Brown was caught with a 25-year-old man who had promised her and a 16-year-old girl he would take them to Hollywood, "buy them nice clothes" and set them up in a club where they would "make some really good money" soliciting people for sex, according to documents filed in federal court.

Joshua Albert Harris of Grand Prairie, Texas, was charged with sexual exploitation of a child (transporting a minor for sexual purposes), while Brown was charged as his accomplice. The three were caught at around 3 a.m. on July 4 at the U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint on Interstate 10 north of Las Cruces, where the younger teen deferred questions to Harris, who was later found in possession of Brown's ID.
