SWAT Team Called Out In Central Las Cruces

By Danielle Chavira

LAS CRUCES, N.M. —

Las Cruces police said they temporarily blocked off Spruce Avenue between Solano Drive and Mesquite Street at around 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

LCPD officials said their SWAT team was called out after one person barricaded himself in a home and refused to comply with a search warrant.

Authorities said four people, including the man, were inside the home.

The situation was resolved quickly, said police. No one was reportedly injured, and no shots were fired, authorities said.

Police said they are questioning the four individuals at this time.

Spruce Avenue, between Solano Drive and Mesquite Street, was closed for about 45 minutes but was later opened to traffic.
