Suspicious man sought after scaring jogger in Las Cruces

Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest of the man police said assaulting a woman who was jogging along the Triviz Drive path.

Police said a group of women were jogging on the path by Idaho Avenue around 6 a.m. Friday when a man approached one of the women in a threatening manner, demanded that she stop.

Police said that the woman was able to get away but told police she was frightened by his demeanor and demand.

The man was last seen headed westbound on Idaho Avenue and behind an apartment complex.

He was described as white, in his mid to late 20s, and was wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt and fatigue cargo pants.
