Driver in vehicle crash with bus cited

Police and paramedics were at the scene of a crash that involved a Sun Metro bus Monday morning.

The accident happened at Mesa Street and Yandell Drive in downtown El Paso around 10:40 a.m.

According to police, a bus and a red vehicle were driving westbound on Yandell Drive when the driver of the red vehicle sped up to cut off the bus driver at the Mesa intersection.

In result of the unsafe lane change police said the bus struck the car as it made a left turn.

Two passengers on the bus were taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

The driver of the red vehicle was cited for unsafe lane change.
