EL PASO, Texas —

The Sun City is among one of fastest growing cities in the nation, that's according to the latest report released by the US Census Bureau.

The U.S Census Bureau is reporting that El Paso saw a growth of over 16,416 people last year, making it the 13th fastest growing city in the nation.

The study was taken from U.S. Census numbers from April 2010 through July 2011.

El Paso was one of eight cities in Texas that made the top 15 list, behind Austin, Dallas and Fort Worth.

Analysts say the recession played a big in El Paso's growth, citing that the recession caused more people to move closer to town and away from suburbs.

Analysts also said that a younger Hispanic population, and people migrating from larger cities also played a big part in the city's growth.
