EL PASO, Texas —
About 50 members of Kids First! Reform EPISD!, students and parents showed up to rally for the firing of district employees involved in a cheating scandal.
Members are calling for those involved to be fired now and not later.
"It's two years too late," said Lauren Pace, a former student. "And that's something we're here to make happen."
The PAC said they're going to give the board of trustees a petition asking for district officials to be fired.
The district's board president read a prepared statement that said the district cannot terminate any particular employee without due process.
The district's board meeting is currently under way, and on the agenda is about $1 million in Texas Education Agency mandates for monitoring and auditing from an outside firm.
Rally-goers said it is a waste of taxpayer dollars.
