Student Shot In Juarez Protest

EL PASO, Texas —

According to our media partners at the El Paso Times, one college student was shot by two federal police officers in Juarez Friday.

The officers shot their weapons in the air in an attempt to scare away student protestors during a march for peace outside a medical school in north Juarez.

Federal police said the two officers shots were meant as a warning, and the agents were coming from a murder scene where they were attacked by criminals. The officers apprehended two subjects from the killing after a chase was finished.

The officers saw masked people on the streets as they were traveling to the courthouse, and proceeded to open fire.

Officials said, the two officers who fired their weapons were arrested after an initial investigation.
