A 50 year old man hiking in the Franklin Mountains calls 911 after he can't find his way back down after dark.

Authorities say the man was from out of town and unfamiliar with the rocky terrain.

He had been on the mountain for about four hours when he called for help.

A helicopter and its light were used to locate him as the man used a flashlight to signal for help.

Authorities say he is not injured but fatigued.
