EL PASO, Texas —

Five protesters show up at 7 a.m. this morning for the start of "Occupy City Hall" in downtown El Paso.

One demonstrator, Xiaver Miranda, told a KFOX14 news crew that a larger demonstration is planned for 9 a.m.

The group calls itself, "Quality of Life Voters for Democracy," and insists its protest is meant to be "peaceful and law abiding."

Unlike past "Occupy" protests, nobody is planning to spend the night.

This protest is scheduled to run from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

This is the same group that recently turned in 2,300 signatures to get the construction of a new baseball stadium downtown put to a public vote.

They're expected to have a new petition this morning.

The city of El Paso recently said that City Hall isn't meant for public gatherings, adding that anyone disrupting city business will be asked to leave or will be forcibly removed.
