Socorro police search for man who fled from car accident

Socorro police are looking for a man who they said struck a motorcyclist with his car and left the scene without helping the injured man.

On Nov. 5, 2011, Jonathan Corona was leaving a parking lot at 10755 North Loop in a white four-door passenger car when police said he struck a motorcyclist.

Socorro police said the impact of the crash caused the victim to fly off the motorcycle, injuring his right leg and rib cage.

The motorcyclist was taken to Del Sol Medical Center in serious condition.

  Corona, who fled the scene after the crash, abandoned his car, leaving three kids behind, police said.

Authorities believe that Corona is in the Socorro area.

They're asking the public to notify them at 915-588-0989 if his whereabouts are known.

Corona faces accident involving injury or death charge.
