EL PASO, Texas —

The Socorro Police Department issued a warning to drivers Thursday that officers would be out in full force patrolling for drunken drivers over the holiday weekend.

Officers told KFOX14 they’ve already made their first arrest.

Officers arrested Valentine Bobadilla-Rodriguez, 49, on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

They found the San Elizario resident after he allegedly rear-ended a car in the 11300 block of Alameda in Socorro. Police noticed an alcohol smell coming from his breath. They said he failed a field sobriety test and breathed a 0.197 on a Breathalyzer. He was booked into the county jail en lieu of a $4,300 bond.
