Socorro Looking For Robbery Suspect

SOCORRO, Texas —

On Thursday morning, a man walked into a store with a knife and demanded money. Now, Socorro police are looking for him and they want the community's help.

Socorro police obtained surveillance video of inside the Family Dollar that shows the suspect.

The Family Dollar surveillance video shows a man walking into the store hiding something behind his back. Moments later he pulls out a knife. When Socoro police officers showed up, the victims described the suspect.

"They advised us that a male wearing a red bandanna and a baseball cap entered the store put them at knife point and demanded money from each one of them," said Officer Isreal Delgado.

Delgado said three people were inside the store at the time, the store manager and two customers, one of them an elderly woman. The description of the suspect they provided may not be enough. That's why police released the video to KFOX.

"We're reaching out to the community and see what they can give us. If he starts talking or bragging about what happened, hopefully people will come to us and let us know," said Delgado.

Police said the suspect ran on foot. They said no one was hurt, but if the supect is arrested he could be charged with three counts of aggravated robbery because he was holding a knife.

"This was a premeditated crime, he had it planned with the bandanna and cap, the whole nine, he knew what he was doing," said Delgado.

KFOX tried talking to the Family Dollar store manager but she declined. If anyone has any information on this crime, call Socorro Police at 915-858-6983.
