LAS CRUCES, N.M. —
County spokesman Jess Williams said the skunks have been disrupting operations for awhile now. He said the county has tried various methods in the past to keep the skunks out, but nothing seems to work.
The county is hoping this next attempt will be the final battle. They will shut down the office for at least a week and staff will be moved to a temporary housing office.
In this next attempt the plan of attack will be to not only get the skunks out, but remove any surrounding order as well as seal up the bottom of the trailer so the skunks can't return.
“The people who work there say it's really problematic and sometimes worse than others, so we realize we've got an issue so we're going to get on out there and deal with it,” said Williams.
As of right now, there is no official date as to when the county is hoping to get the skunks out, but they hoping it will happen soon and won't last more than about a week, or two.
