A semi-truck, SUV, and a Canutillo Independent School District school bus were involved in a wreck Wednesday morning in the Upper Valley. The crash temporarily shut down westbound traffic on Artcraft Road.

According to El Paso police, the SUV was traveling east on Artcraft Road and turned left onto Upper Valley Road. An oncoming semi-truck wasn't able to stop in time and smashed into the back part of the vehicle. The SUV then struck the school bus which was on a red light.

It happened shortly after 7 a.m.

There were three students on board the bus, but none of them were injured. The truck driver walked away without injuries. However, the driver of the SUV and her 9-year-old son were transported to Thomason Hospital with minor injuries. Police said the driver of the SUV will be cited for failing to yield on a green light.
