EL PASO, Texas —

El Paso's National Weather Services issued a freeze warning for the Borderland, including the metro areas of El Paso and Las Cruces for 11 p.m. Sunday until 8 a.m. Monday.

A freeze warning means the area will see temperatures at, or below, the 32-degree mark for 6 to 9 hours overnight.

A cold front that passed through the region is responsible for the fall's first official freeze.

To make sure you and your loved ones are ready for the cold, The National Weather Service advises people follow
the "Four P's of Cold Weather":

• People - check on neighbors and the elderly.
• Pets - bring pets inside or provide a dry warm place to rest.
• Plants - bring plants indoors that you want to protect.
• Pipes - wrap outdoor popes and keep rooms warm with pipes in exterior walls.
