Update: Lost family in Franklin Mountains found

EL PASO, Texas —

The family of five that was missing since 3 p.m. Monday has been found.

Combined Search and Rescue members, with the help of the Texas Department of Public Safety, found the family in the Franklin Mountains State Park around 6 a.m. Tuesday.

Authorities said a helicopter with a large spotlight was used to find the missing hikers.

The family, a 37-year-old man, a 31-year-old woman; three girls ages 9, 8 and 6, and their three dogs were not injured.

They were brought back to their campground at 9 a.m.
