EL PASO, Texas —

It's not exactly the ideal place to spend your Christmas holiday. "I feel terrible, I just wanna get home, I wish they'd figure something out," said James Sicco.

But for 350 stranded travelers, the downtown El Paso Greyhound bus station is where they've spent nearly all day Friday. "I'm coming from Pittsburgh  and got stranded trying to head to Tucson to get back with the family," said Leo Colbert. Early Friday morning some buses headed west but then turned around when the snow got heavy.

"People wanna go home, I haven't seen my kids in two months, I should be home tonight but I ain't," said Robert Lucas. As of Friday afternoon, all routes were canceled. Passengers were told the roads were too dangerous. Some passengers took the news in stride but others got very upset. "I'm frustrated and upset, and I'm trying to be cool about but I will never ride Greyhound again, "said Robert Lucas.

James Joyce has been traveling since yesterday, and just wants to make it to California by Christmas to see his mom. "It's nice to have a big white Christmas, I just wish it would have waited till I got home," said Joyce.

The local Salvation Army and Red Cross have stepped in to help feed these passengers. They've also set up a temporary overnight shelter for any stranded passengers at the convention center.

No word on when bus routes will resume.
