Repeat vandalism strikes a Far East Neighborhood

EL PASO, Texas —

Vandals terrorize a Far East El Paso neighborhood, and neighbors tell KFOX14 they have been the targets of repeated acts of vandalism.

Cristi Contreras said she woke up this morning to broken glass in her driveway. The windows on her two cars had been shattered. Her husband is currently deployed with the military and his truck was beaten by golf clubs, and her home was also spray-painted.

Contreras said the damages will cost her more than $1,000, and the escalating violence has Contreras and other neighbors concerned.

"No one seems to have any answers really and it's been one thing after the other," she said. "In this neighborhood it's just been consecutive problems."

Neighbors said they have filed multiple police reports, and police said they have reports of five vandalized vehicles early this morning.

They said the investigation is ongoing.

Neighbors tell KFOX14 a few months ago that their homes were egged and pelleted with paintballs.

They also said a group of teens drove down Tierra Loma yesterday and shot pellet guns at neighbors.
