'Railroad Killer' Executed

June 27, 2006 —

All final pleas are rejected and the execution of the so-called "Railroad Killer" Angel Resendiz is completed.

At 7:06 Tuesday evening the 46-year-old convicted murderer was given the lethal injection.

Before dying witnesses say Resendiz said in English, "Lord forgive me," and then mumbled a prayer in Spanish.

Resendiz was found guilty for the 1998 slaying of a Houston area doctor but is also suspected of at least another 13 murders across the country.

The drifter was dubbed the "Railroad Killer" because he often jumped trains to get from place to place.

He actually turned himself over to Texas Rangers at an El Paso Port of Entry in El Paso back in 1999.
