LAS CRUCES, N.M. —

Police arrested two teenage girls and an 18-year-old man who allegedly stole a vehicle from the girls' foster home, police said.

Police said the two 15-year-old girls sneaked out of their foster home around midnight Saturday evening and took the family's Chrysler 300. Juan Bailon, 18, later joined the girls for a joyride and smoked marijuana that he allegedly provided, police said.

Police said the car ran out of gas, and one girl was found at a relative's home while the other and Bailon were found on Picacho Avenue. Police said the two gave false names and tried running from police.

The two teen girls were charged with one count each of taking of a motor vehicle and conspiracy. One girl also faces larceny charges, while the other is also charged with resisting, evading or obstructing an officer and concealing her identity. The two are being held without bail.

Bailon is charged with possession of a stolen vehicle; two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor; resisting, evading or obstructing an officer; concealing identity; and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bailon was booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center with bail set at $5,000.
