EL PASO, Texas —

Two 20-year-olds are facing drug possession charges after the driver ran a stop sign, police said.

Around 2 a.m. Friday, police stopped a black Ford Explorer after it ran a stop sign in the 7700 block of Mazatlan Drive.

The officer smelled burnt marijuana and called in a drug-sniffing dog to assist, police said.

Zeus, the drug-sniffing dog, led police to find 1.3 ounces of marijuana inside the vehicle.

Sonia Bautista and Marcaiszic Saucedo were charged with possession of marijuana, and they were booked into the El Paso County Detention facility with bail set at $300 each.
