Police Seek Public’s Help With Crime Of The Week

EL PASO, Texas —

Police hope the public might know something that could help solve a cold case.

In the Crime of the Week, police said on May 5, 2008, 72-year-old Flavia Estrello was trying to walk across the 10100 block of Cross Street in northeast El Paso, with her granddaughter in a stroller.

Police said that some one hit Estrello and the stroller, then took off. Estrello died and the child received serious injuries.

El Paso Officer Frank Torres said, "The 10100 block of Cross is a residential roadway. Very dark, not many street lights. The vehicle was headed north and made a left on Sun Valley."

Witnesses said the vehicle was dark-colored and possibly a late Ford Mustang.

Police and Crime Stoppers ask the public to call with any information, 915-566-8477.
