An El Paso Police officer is on administrative duty, after an alleged altercation with a 14 year old boy.
Officers say 10 year veteran Moises Avila responded to a fight Thursday afternoon where weapons were involved.
Police say the boy ran from the officer for about 3 blocks, that's when witnesses say the officer tackled the boy, and used excessive force.
The boy received a cut on his head and was taken to Thomason hospital.
Internal affairs is investigating the allegations against Officer Avila.
