ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —
Investigators said two would-be hit men from Albuquerque may have plotted to kill pop star Justin Bieber, according to KRQE News 13.
According the KRQE News 13, Mark Staake and his nephew Tanner Ruane planned to carry out the deed and also strangle three other people.
The Associated Press reported that the two traveled to Vermont as part of a conspiracy to murder two people, and one of them was charged in the alleged scheme, according to Vermont State Police.
Ruane, 23, was arrested Nov. 20 in Rotterdam, N.Y. after state police learned of a warrant for his arrest on two counts of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder and other charges, the Associated Press reported.
The day before, Ruane and his uncle, Staake, were lost and ended up at the Highgate Springs border crossing. Staake was detained by federal authorities and arrested on a fugitive-from-justice charge out of New Mexico. Authorities said that at the time they did not know of any conspiracy warrant for Ruane, and he was allowed to leave, according to the Associated Press.
KRQE News 13 has graphic details about the alleged murder plot, including an alleged plan to murder and castrate Bieber and his bodyguard.
