Police: Man steals iPad at New Year's Eve party

EL PASO, Texas —

A 24-year-old man is facing theft charges after police said he stole an iPad during a New Year's Eve party.

Police said the iPad was stolen from a home on the 4800 block of Apollo Avenue early Tuesday morning.

Patrick Cordova was a guest at the party and allegedly left the home with the stolen iPad. 

Cordova was found at the Beverly Crest Motel on Dyer Street as he was entering a vehicle with the iPad.

Police stopped him and was able to recover the stolen item.

Cordova had an outstanding warrant for motion to revoke probation.

He was also charged with theft of property over $500 and under $1,500. The bail for the theft charges was set at $1,500. He is held without bond for his outstanding warrant.
