Police looking for man who allegedly robbed teen with knife

LAS CRUCES, N.M. —

Las Cruces Crime Stoppers are looking for a man that allegedly threatened a 15-year-old boy with a knife before robbing him, police said.

A $1,000 reward is offered for any information leading to the arrested of a man described as Hispanic in his late 30s, early 40s who may be around 5 feet 6 inches tall and weigh about 150 pounds. He also wears prescription glasses and has a goatee.

Between 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, the boy was approached by the man who demanded that the boy hand over a bag, police said.

Police said the suspect fled on foot on west Park Drive and crossed Boutz Road. He then continued running toward Durazno Drive.

The suspect was last seen wearing dark sweat pants, a dark hoodie and a gray Oakland Raiders cap.
