LAS CRUCES, N.M. —

Police arrested a man they said may be responsible for stabbing another man in a fight outside of a Las Cruces night club on Sunday.

Around midnight Sunday, police responded to Q-Time at 1201 E. Amador Ave. where a 25-year-old man had suffered multiple stab wounds to the chest, abdomen and back, according to police.

The investigation revealed that the victim and Andres Baca-Linares were in an argument inside the club and were asked to leave by security. The fight escalated as they were leaving and the victim noticed that he was stabbed during the fight, police said.

A warrant was issued for Baca-Linares' arrest, and he was arrested Monday at the Econo Lodge Hotel.

Baca-Linares, 29, was booked into the Dona Ana County Detention Center with bail set at $50,000 cash only.

KFOX14 previously reported that Baca-Linares was arrested in June after police said he allegedly sexually assaulted a 3-year-old relative.
