Plea hearing for Gandara rescheduled

EL PASO, Texas —
A plea hearing for former County Commissioner Willie Gandara Jr., was originally scheduled for Monday, and according to a court order, the hearing is postponed to Aug. 16. Gandara resigned from his seat after being arrested on drug-trafficking charges and was charged with conspiracy to possess a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute. According to the court order signed by Judge Frank Montalvo, the re-arraignment was reset for 2 p.m. Aug. 16. It is unknown which charge or charges Gandara will plead guilty to.
