A person was sent to a hospital with serious injuries Friday afternoon.

Socorro police spokesmanDavid Garcia told KFOX14 the accident involved a motorcycle and a white compact car.

It  happened on Horizon Boulevard and North Loop around 2:20 p.m.

Garcia said the motorcyclist was driving southbound on North Loop and the driver of the car was heading northbound on Horizon Boulevard.

Police have not determined which vehicle had the right of way at the intersection.

A witness at the scene who did not want to be identified told KFOX14 that the motorcyclist was lying on the ground wearing a helmet.

She said it took more than 20 minutes for emergency crews to arrive.

Construction workers who were nearby approached the scene and provide shade with a sign for the motorcyclist, said the witness.

She said the man on the ground was moving around, but other witnesses were telling him not to move.

At this time, Garcia has not identified the people involved.
