Fire crews cleared out the northeast El Paso store around 3:30 p.m.
Customers complained of a strong pepper-spray odor coming from inside the building.
Many said they had trouble breathing.
HAZMAT crews didn't uncover where the stench came from, but removed whatever was left by using the air conditioning.
