EL PASO, Texas —

On Tuesday, City Council voted to postpone the approval of the city's park and recreation master plan for another four weeks.

The plan would allow the city to provide amenities El Pasoans are asking for, such as more space, trees or even water conservation at local parks.

With the plan, the city would be able to fill in those gaps in service.

"It would be helpful to adopt it as soon as we can, just for grant opportunities and other funding opportunities as well," said Marci Tuck, parks and trails coordinator.

The city's master plan is updated every six years, and City Council has asked the Parks and Recreation Department to present more information the next time the plan is discussed.
